LookMate is live — a stylist that never sees your closet

Our eighth app is on the App Store, and it's the most personal thing we've built. LookMate is an AI stylist that lives entirely on your iPhone: photograph your clothes once, and every morning it composes an outfit from what you actually own — dressed for today's weather and whatever your day holds.

The premise came from a simple observation: most people don't need more clothes, they need a better view of the clothes they have. And nobody wants to upload their wardrobe — or their mirror selfies — to someone's server to get it.

What shipped in 1.0

• A closet that understands itself. Snap a garment and LookMate lifts it from the background, reads its real color into an accurate swatch, and warns you if you already own something like it.
• A look every morning. A complete outfit matched to the weather and the occasion — office, casual, wedding guest — with a score, a "why this look?" explanation, and a shuffle for alternatives.
• Search in plain language. "Something light for a hot day" works the way you'd say it.
• Style DNA. A few photos become a personal color profile — undertone, contrast, the shades that flatter you — analysed entirely on your device.
• The practical stuff. Trip Packer builds a capsule for any trip, laundry tracking keeps dirty items out of suggestions, and wear logging shows your cost-per-wear dropping.

Private by design, not by settings page

LookMate has no account, no subscription and no server-side closet. Your garment photos, your wear history and your Style DNA never leave the phone; on supported iPhones, Apple Intelligence does the heavy lifting locally. The one exception is opt-in: Mirror Mode can connect your own AI provider for photoreal try-ons, and that's a choice you make, not a default we set.

The best styling advice is grounded in your closet — so the model should live where your closet does: on your phone.

What we learned

On-device AI forces honest product design. There's no server to hide slow models behind, so every feature had to earn its latency — background removal, color extraction and outfit scoring all run in the moment you'd otherwise be staring at a spinner. The constraint made the app faster and the privacy story true instead of aspirational.
